Candidate Financial Statements - 2022 Election

All individuals who filed nomination papers for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election in the Township of Essa — including those who withdrew or were acclaimed — must submit a Financial Statement (Form 4) to the Clerk. The deadline to file was March 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
As required under the Municipal Elections Act, all submitted statements are available for public viewing on the Township’s website.

The following candidate(s) have not filed the mandated Election Financial Statement (Form 4) as of the close of the 30-day grace period filing the original filing date of March 31, 2023.

Compliance Audit Committee

The County of Simcoe has established a Joint Compliance Audit Committee (CAC), with participation from the Township of Essa under By-law 2022-42.

The CAC reviews applications from eligible electors who believe a candidate or third-party advertiser has violated the campaign finance rules under the Municipal Elections Act. Financial statements are available on the Township’s Election page. Applications can be submitted even if a financial statement has not been filed. Making an Application

• Applicant must be an eligible elector in the Township of Essa 
• Have reasonable grounds to contest a candidate’s or TPA’s campaign finances.
• Complete the Application for a Compliance Audit form.
• Submit application to Township of Essa Clerk by the deadline.
