Do you have ideas, concerns, or information you’d like to share with Council? Community members are welcome to do so by submitting a Delegation Request Form in advance.

Delegations take place during Committee of the Whole meetings, where up to two speakers may present for a maximum of ten minutes. Please note that repeat requests on the same topic within six months are only allowed if new information is being shared.

Saved by the Beep – Test Your Smoke Alarm Day is September 28!

This September, we’re proud to support Ontario’s Saved by the Beep campaign—a province-wide movement reminding everyone to test their smoke alarms and stay fire safe.

Why it matters:

Working smoke alarms save lives. You may have less than two minutes to escape a fire safely. A simple monthly test ensures your alarm is ready when you need it most.

What you can do:

• Test your smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button.
• Replace batteries twice a year unless your alarm has a long-life battery.
• Install alarms on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas.
• Replace alarms every 10 years or refer to your manufacturer’s instructions.
