Public Notice – Winter Operations & Maintenance
The Township of Essa has received a significant amount of snow this winter. Staff have been working diligently at plowing, sanding and salting in order to keep roads and sidewalks open and safe for the public. As weather allows staff is working on snow removal to reduce snowbanks to keep the streets clear and passable for residents and emergency vehicles prioritizing the following:
1. Key intersections to restore sight lines and signage visibility.
2. Snow removal at key snow storage locations (Cul-du-sac’s, Dead-ends)
3. Pushing back drifts on Rural roads in preparation for future storms
4. Removing snow to open key drainage locations to reduce/avoid flooding
concerns in spring
The snow removal work is taking place during the day as well as at night Residents
cooperation in helping to keep streets clean and safe is appreciated
