Notice of the Passing of a Zoning By-Law Amendment The Township of Essa passed By-law No. 2026-12 on April 15th, 2026 amending By-law No. 2003-50. Appeals to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) must be submitted by May 6th, 2026 at 4:30 p.m., including required fees. TAKE NOTICE that an application has been submitted for a Minor Variance application on the property known legally as CON 7 PT W 1/2 LOT 21;RP51R16231 PART 3, municipally 5606 20th Sideroad. The applicant is requesting relief from Section 3: Definitions of Essa Township’s Zoning By-law 2003-50, specifically the definition of “Home Occupation,” to permit outdoor activities as part of the use. The applicant is proposing to host small outdoor wedding ceremonies on the property.
TAKE NOTICE that an application has been submitted for a Minor Variance application on the property known legally as PLAN 1425 LOT 4, municipally 6 Brentwood Road. The applicant is seeking relief from Section 8.1 (d) of Essa Township’s Zoning By-law 2003-50 which stipulates that no accessory use, building or structure shall exceed 4.5 m in height on any lot which is less than 1.0 ha in size. The applicant is proposing to build a garage at the height of 4.97 m.
TAKE NOTICE that an application has been submitted for a Minor Variance application on the property known legally as CON 1 PT LOT 16 RP 51R16870: PART 3, municipally 7060 County Road 21. The applicant is seeking relief from Section 3.4 of the Fencing By-law 2017-40 which states that fencing within a front yard must be less than 1.2 metres (4 feet) and of open construction. The applicant would like to build a fence that would reach a maximum peak of 2.4 metres (8 feet).
