Essa's Riverbank Derby
Join us on Sunday, September 21, 2025, for the annual fishing derby!
- Time: Registration at 7:30 AM | Fishing from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM | Closing Ceremonies at 2:15 PM
- Location: 380 Mill St, Nottawasaga Fish Park & 8888 Don Ross Fish Park
- Cost: Free with a $40 Essa Seasonal Access Pass, or $20 cash for others

Derby Entry Requirements
Eligibility: You must have a Seasonal Fishing Access Pass or a 1-Day Essa Salmon Derby Pass to participate in the Derby on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Marshals: Official marshals will be stationed along the riverbanks and will serve as the authorities for all fish entries recorded during the Derby.
- Awarded for most salmon caught and released
- Winner’s name engraved on the trophy donated by Essa Township
- $300 cash prize donated by Ron Saunders
- Awarded for most salmon and rainbow trout caught and released
- $200 cash prize donated by Essa Township
- Awarded for most native species fish caught (no invasive species allowed)
- 2 free 2026 Essa Access Passes for our fishing parks, donated by Essa Township
- All attendees at the closing ceremony receive 1 ticket for a chance to win
- 2 free 2026 season Essa Access Passes to our fishing parks, donated by Essa Township
