The Council of the Township of Essa proclaims June 15, 2025, as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
The Township is now developing a new Official Plan to update policies and align with current provincial guidelines and community interests.
Please be advised the Contractor is planning to extend the road closure of Simcoe Street from Water Street to Raglan Street starting Monday June 9, 2025, with access for local residents only. The Township of Essa Council has approved its 2025 budget, totaling $38.2 million, with a 3.26% tax increase, equivalent to $25.61 per $100,000 of assessed residential value. Priorities include replacing aged assets, addressing growth, and upgrading infrastructure. Highlights feature fire services enhancements, road urbanization, bridge replacements, and park improvements. Despite pressures, Essa maintains the lowest tax rate among Simcoe County’s 16 municipalities. Provincial support offsets rising policing costs, ensuring sustainable services and critical investments.
